Join me down a rabbit-hole of over 20 years in independent publishing.
Books
Clerical Errors (2024): a miscellany of short works written sometime over the past 20 or so years. The writings range from short fiction, poetry and prose to even a comic book and an academic paper. Most of the themes are sci-fi or horror oriented. Available on Amazon Click HERE for purchase options
This collection includes: "Internet.Freedom.Gov" a pre-9/11 investigation of the early electronic surveillance tool dubbed "Carnivore". "Sharkey Thomas (Issue 1)" a previously published independent comic book that begins the story of a detective in a futuristic society. "The Truth About Black Cats and Monsters" This is a story about the stray cat who can often be found on my porch. It first appeared as a zine I made for a conference I was tabling at. "Neon Mist" A science fiction story about the possibility of transferring consciousness into a swarm of nano bots. "The Testimony of Lillian Korpal" A first person horror story about a woman who becomes involved in a demonic cult while working as a personal lingerie model for some wealth but mysterious people. ... and more.
Needs Must ...: Life and Times in Satanic America 2017-2021 (2022): My column "For Infernal Use Only" was, for a time, the only column covering Satanism on the largest interfaith website in the world. Much of this content is no longer available online. This collection is a selection of articles following the growth of contemporary Satanism in the United States, mainly driven by the legal and political exploits of The Satanic Temple.
During the tumultuous period in American history that this book covers, I travelled from coast-to-coast and border-to-border in pursuit of the real story of an often unfairly maligned and uniquely modern religious movement. From protests of conferences for dangerously deluded psychotherapists, to the struggle for reproductive freedoms in the US and abroad, and more. This book gives readers a detailed insight into one the early 21st century's unlikeliest champions of freedom, Satan. Available on Amazon Click HERE for purchase options
The Miskatonic University Yoga Association Beginner's Guide to Old Ones Yoga (2014): A fun mash-up of a fairly reasonable 20-30 minute yoga routine and Lovecraftian horrors. This book was kind of made on a lark as a way to attempt to monetize The Left Hemisphere's Podcast. Available for Amazon Kindle Click HERE for purchase options
APEX (2005): Written in 2003-2004 Apex feels like a fairly amaturish attempt at writing and publishing a novel now that it's 20 years later. That said it still holds up in some spots contemplating persistent themes in society, culture, and politics. According to Amazon there are still a few copies of it floating around, but I won't see a dime from them so only check it out if you're particularly obsessed with my early work.
